Chai Hot Chocolate (Chai-ocolate)

A wonderful and healthier twist on a traditional hot chocolate made with Almond Breeze® infused with delicious plant based super foods. The cacao powder is blended with cinnamon, turmeric and cardamom to create a warming drink boosted with health benefits. Sweeten to taste with date syrup. And why not enjoy with our Almond, Choc-Chip and Ginger Cookies or our delicious Almond Butter Blondies.


To make the chai mix

Using a mortar and pestle grind the cardamom seeds until they become a powder, then add the cacao powder, cinnamon and turmeric, and stir together.

To make the chai-ocolate

Gently heat the Almond Breeze® in a medium saucepan. Once warm (but not boiling) carefully whisk in 1 tablespoon of chai mix, then add 1 tablespoon of date syrup (to taste). Stir together until hot and pour into your cup and enjoy.

For the ultimate hot chai–ocolate we recommend using 1 tablespoon of chai mix per 250ml hot Original Almond Breeze®.

Store remaining dry hot chai-ocolate mix in a glass jar with a screw lid, for up to one month.

2 heaped tbsp. raw cacao powder

1 tbsp. cinnamon powder

1 tsp. turmeric

1 cardamom pod, seeds only

For 250ml hot chai–ocolate

250ml Original Almond Breeze®

1 tbsp. chai mix

1 tbsp. date syrup
